The all-new Hyundai i30 will be priced from £14,495 when it goes on sale in March. The new i30 will be available in four trim levels – Classic, Active, Style and Style Nav – and comes equipped with a range of new diesel and petrol engines.

Included in the engine line-up is a frugal 1.6 CRDi Blue Drive unit, which comes in two power outputs and features stop-start as standard. In 108bhp guise, the engine emits 97g/km CO2 and achieves 76.3mpg, while the more powerful 126bhp variant emits 100g/km Co2.

Standard equipment across the Hyundai i30 model range includes voice-activated Bluetooth, LED daytime running lights, a multi-function steering wheel and electric and heated door mirrors. Hyundai’s hill-start assist system is also on the list.

Active-spec models add 15-inch alloys, cruise control, rear-parking sensors and three driver setting options – Comfort, Normal and Sport – while Style models get larger 16-inch alloys, as well as climate control, front parking sensors, LED indicators and rain-sensing wipers.

Topping the i30 range is the Style Nav model, prices of which start from £17,595. On top of the equipment you’ll find on the i30 Style, an integrated touchscreen sat-nav system and rear view parking camera is included.

Hyundai’s UK CEO Tony Whitehorn commented: “The new-generation i30 represents another leap forward in terms of Hyundai’s design, refinement and build quality” and that “it’s the complete package for customers looking for a high-quality vehicle at an affordable price.”

Japanese buyers are no strangers to special edition versions with extremely subtle modifications, the newest one coming fromHonda with its CR-Z 'Label α' model, which goes on sale this week and will be available for a limited release until May 31.

What makes the 'Label α' special in Honda's eyes is the bespoke burgundy pearl metallic finish on the outside with a matching interior color for the seats, door panels and the stitching on the leather steering wheel and manual gearbox shifter.

The hybrid sports hatch also gets alloy wheels and aluminum sport pedals.

The CR-Z 'Label α' will be offered with a CVT (continuously variable transmission) or a six-speed manual gearbox with pricing in Japan set at 2,510,000 yen (about €24,850 and US$32,150) for both models.

Police Seize Chevrolet Impala Taxis in Canada for…Street Racing

Now here’s something you don't often hear about. Canadian police seized the vehicles of two motorists for racing on Yonge Street in Toronto. Nothing new except that these two drivers were racing their Chevrolet Impala…taxi cabs!

We don't know who the winner was from theBeck Taxi versus Royal Cab derby nor if they managed to actually complete the quarter mile on the public road, but Canadian news sites reported that the two cabbies were formally charged and had their licenses suspended for seven days.

If convicted, they also face a fine between CA$2,000 and CA$10,000. Yes, that may hurt…

Chrysler Group Builds 1 Millionth Pentastar V6 after 18 Months

Only 18 months after the Chrysler Group began production of its new Pentastar V6 at its Trenton Engine Assembly Plant in Michigan, the company hit its first important milestone with the manufacturing of the one-millionth unit. The V6 is also produced at Chrysler's plant in Saltillo, Mexico.

The Detroit firm's all-aluminum 3.6-liter V6 engine made its debut on the 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokeebut has since found its way under the hood of many more models.

These include the Chrysler 200, 300 and Town and Country, plus the Dodge Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Journey and Caravan, and more recently the 2012 Jeep Wrangler.

"To build one million of anything, and in an impressively short amount of time, is a significant achievement. But to do it with such a high degree of quality is a testament to our skilled and dedicated workforce at both Trenton South and Saltillo engine plants," said Brian Harlow, head of Chrysler's Powertrain Manufacturing division.

Over the past year and a half, the 3.6-liter unit has replaced six legacy V6 engines ranging from 2.7-liter up to 4.0-liters in the Chrysler Group LLC product portfolio. It is offered with the Chrysler Group's new 8-speed automatic transmission.

Compared to its predecessors, it’s not only more powerful and fuel efficient but also less complicated in its construction as the engine components were reduced from 189 parts to just 32.

Who let the Dogs in? Suzuki Did for its 2012 Super Bowl Commercial

Given Americas love for man's best friend, it's a pretty safe bet that you'll get at least some attention with a commercial starring dogs.

Released on YouTube before it hits the television airwaves on February 5 during the big game, Suzuki's 2012 Super Bowl ad is entitled "Sled" and it features an Eskimo who trades in his sled (but not his four-legged crew) for an all-wheel driveKizashi mid-size sedan.

“The secret to any great commercial is creating a spot that captures viewers' attention, but is also relevant and distinctive to the product and brand," said Rob Siltanen, CEO of Siltanen & Partners Advertising, which was responsible for creating the spot.

The Japanese firm's 2012 Super Bowl spot will air both in 60-second and 30-second formats, and will continue to run after the game in conjunction with a new Suzuki advertising campaign scheduled to launch in March.

Spy Shots: New BMW M135i with 320HP 3.0-liter Turbocharged Six

Earlier this week, BMW blew the covers off the first models of its new M Performance sub-brand, namely the M550d, X5 M50d and X6 M50d.

But that's only the beginning as the German firm plans to expand the range to include if not all, most of its models including the 1-Series five-door hatchback, a prototype of which our scoop photographers caught while testing in Europe (albeit with a fake 118i moniker on the tailgate).

So far, the most powerful model of the new 1-Series hatch is the recently announced 125i sporting a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine that puts out 218bhp and 310Nm (228 lb-ft) propelling the five-door model to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.4 seconds and on to a maximum velocity of 245 km/h (152mph).

According to our sources, the M Performance version of the 1-Series 5d will be named M135i and will be powered by the same N55 3.0-liter inline-six gasoline engine with twin blowers found in the 6-Series models such as the new Grand Coupe 640i. This means it will produce at least 320-horsepower and 450Nm (331.9 lb-ft).

We don't know yet if the BMW will get a rear-wheel drive setup or if, like the first examples of the M Performance range, an xDrive all-wheel drive system, but the grunt will be transferred to the road through a six-speed manual or an optional 8-speed automatic transmission.

The prototype seen here was fitted with a new body kit similar in appearance to the 1-Series Performance Concept car displayed at last year's Frankfurt Motor Show.

BMW M's engineers will also make changes to the M135i's suspension and steering wheel settings along with the addition of more powerful brakes to improve its dynamics and handling.

The new M135i could make its global debut as early as this March at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

TRON MOTORCYCLE

Believe it or not, this is a motorcycle that you can buy. It’ll cost you at least $55,000 but it’s electric, so you’ll save money on gas. The Xenon was styled by Florida-based Parker Brothers Choppers, and it’s based on the gas-powered “Light Cycle” they created for the movie Tron: Legacy. But the core of the Xenon comes from a company calledEvolve, which is better known for its affordable electric scooters costing $2,900 and up. There are two versions of the productionized Xenon, a basic model and the “XR”, which doubles the battery power to give a 100-mile range. A 40,000W motor delivers a top speed of 70 mph, and the battery pack is fully charged in three to four hours. And despite the improbable looks, there’s a video to prove that the bike is rideable. There’s no pipewrap and the tires look nothing like vintage Firestones. But I’d happily put this one in my garage for those occasional night rides. [Via Autoblog Green.]

Keeping warm in Winter with Motorcycles riding on Ice – Video

So it is not me riding in the snow and ice rather I am sitting in my Man Cave drinking coffee watching motorcycles riding on ice.  Each of these three videos not only just take motorcycles on ice but try to rip the ice apart.

Let’s start with the first video.  A BMW s1000RR with home made snow spiked tires doing burnouts on ice to the point it looks as thought the ice is going to combust into flames.  The amount of horsepower the BMW is putting down to the spiked tires just looks and sounds amazing.The second and third videos show some stunters taking their game to the ice.

Insane Motorcycle Ride on top of Narrow Snow Covered Mountain Ridge – Video

Most motorcycle riders during the winter suffer from P.M.S or Parked Motorcycle Syndrome.  While other riders take full advantage of the snow to create an entirely new type of riding.

This particular guy takes it to an entirely different level.  Having created his own snow spiked tires he conquerers some amazing snow covered mountains.  It doesn’t stop at the hill climb but this guy rides like a madman on the top of mountains snow covered ridge.  We reversed the video sequence so you can see the most amazing ridge riding we have ever seen first then the hill climb.

We are not sure how this guy sits on a motorcycle as his huge balls must get in the way all the time.
