2011 has been a tough economic year for many but for the motorcycle industry it seems to have turned the corner. Finally! Ducati and Triumph recently posted fantastic growth numbers for 2011. Ducati alone said they had a 43% growth in North America alone.
New motorcycles seems to be flying rolling off showroom floors. But the most popular motorcycle segment has become Adventure bikes. Adventure motorcycles are turning into a great all around motorcycle. BMW had cornered the market for years but now other manufactures have caught wind of the expanding industry and want their fare share.
Kawasaki leads the way in total number of KLR650′s sold with the Suzuki DL650A coming in a solid second. Triumph is the new comer to the segment introducing some new models and gaining momentum to take over the top spot in the coming years. The segment has a lot of competition and we hear that Ducati dealers are sold out across the US from Multistrada’s.
So what’s your thoughts? Do you think Adventure bikes are the best all around bikes on the road? Let us know in the comment section below
